Boilermaker


Scope

Conduct of:

  • Fabrication, assembly and testing of equipment to support and expand company rental equipment offerings, for delivery to customers and other internal purposes such as testing;

  • Maintenance activities;

  • General activities within the factory; and

  • Ad-hoc support to operations activities.

Capacity:

Casual position - circa 3 days per week


HSEQ Responsibilities

  • Comply with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Processes and Procedures

  • Notify your manager of HSEQ issues or concerns

  • Report all hazards and incidents in a timely manner and participate in incident investigations as required

  • Participate in any relevant HSEQ Training, Drills or Exercises

  • Be responsible for your own safety and care for those around you

Working Relationships

  • Production Manager

  • Engineers

  • Project Managers

Specific Accountabilities

  • Steel / aluminium fabrication including but not limited to marking out, cutting, machining, forming and welding

  • Supporting weld procedure development, qualifying for and executing welding to those procedures

  • Fabricate jigs and fixtures as required

  • Fitment and assembly of equipment - structural, mechanical and hydraulic

  • Conduct various product testing in accordance with test plans

  • General workshop duties

  • Support system mobilisations, demobilisations and field trials (which may be in Perth, offshore or overseas)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities

Qualifications, Experience and capabilities

Mandatory

  • Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking / Welding) or equivalent

  • Experience in high quality heavy industry production

  • Experience in complex engineering production, including the ability to read drawings

  • Welding / boiler making experience

  • AMSA Medical Certificate (to be obtained through on-boarding process)

  • Able to complete the inherent requirements of the role, including:

    • Perform hands on tasks

    • Physically and mentally fit to manoeuvre in confined spaces

    • Lift and carry tools /equipment

Desirable

  • Proficiency in the following:

    • Rigging and high risk work

  • 5+ years of relevant marine / offshore / lifting engineering experience

  • Hydraulics experience

  • Electrics experience

  • Welding supervisor qualifications

  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)

  • Certified welder qualifications to AS/ISO 9606, or experience of having been qualified to specific procedures (eg AWSD1.1, DNV-GL, LR, AS1554, etc)

  • Experience in fabrication and welding quenched & tempered steel

  • Experience in fabrication and welding stainless steel

  • Overhead crane / forklift experience
